Shane Gersich makes his NHL debut tonight for the Capitals

The 21-year-old UND alum will finally make his NHL debut tonight against the New York Rangers. According to multiple reports Gerisch’s family, including his mom, dad and older brother, will all be in attendance for the game. This morning during the Capitals morning skate, Shane Gersich lined up on the third line with Lars Eller and Devante Smith-Pelly. There should be plenty of veteran presence to help Shane along in his pro debut tonight in Washington at the Capital One Arena.

When the puck drops tonight, Gersich will become the fifth Caps player to make his NHL debut this season. Gersich has been assigned jersey number 63 for Washington.

Shane finished his college career with 43 goals and 77 points in 117 games.
