Saskatoon Native Chandler Stephenson Will Spend His Day With the Stanley Cup In Humboldt

Stanley Cup championing Chandler Stephenson is bringing the Cup to his home providence of Saskatoon. He’s bring it to the recovering community of Humboldt home of the Humboldt Broncos junior A hockey team in the SJHL who lost 16 players in a bus crash back on April, 6.

Stephenson grew up 50 miles from Humboldt and was very open about the city in his post game interview after winning the Stanley Cup.

“That’s obviously something that I’ve been wanting to do and something that’s special and close to home for me,” he said, via NBC Sports Washington. “Yeah, it’s something that I’m looking forward to.”

Stephenson spend four years playing the WHL for the Regina Pats in Saskatoon, and knew some of the players who where involved in the crash. Stephenson also said after game 5′ “Everybody up there knows everyone, and I’ve been wanting to do something like this for that community.”
