Redskins to sign veteran lineman Donald Penn

According to Ian Rapoport, veteran offensive lineman Donald Penn will fly to Washington, D.C. tomorrow to sign a one year deal with the Washington Redskins. Penn will be the second offensive lineman that the Redskins have signed in past week, a clear sign that they are looking for Trent Williams insurance. The team signed Corey Robinson to a one year deal last week.

Penn spent seven years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before signing with the Oakland Raiders in 2014. Penn was placed on injured reserve after the Raiders’ fourth game in 2018 before being released in the off-season. From 2008-2016, Penn started every game for his respective team.

Terms of the deal have yet to be announced.
