Redskins Cut Roster to 75
The Washington Redskins announced today their initial cuts from the 90 man roster to the NFL mandated 75.
Those waived were:
• WR Rashad Ross
• G/C Mike McGlynn
• TE Matt Veldman
• G Adam Gettis
• CB Bryan Shepherd
• FB Stephen Campbell
• WR Cody Hoffman
• LB Jeremy Kimbrough
• WR Rashad Lawrence
• S Ross Madison
• DE Jake McDonough
• LB Adrian Robinson
• DE Jeremy Towns
• LB Rob Jackson.
The team also placed TE Mike Caussin on its Reserve/Injured list.
The Redskins play their last preseason game Thursday night in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers. Head Coach Jay Gruden will have until Saturday afternoon at 4pm to cut the roster down to 53 players.
Players placed on waivers after the final cut will remain eligible to sign with other teams until noon on August 31, at that time teams can sign back players that they cut to the practice squad. This past month the NFL announced that practice squad rosters had increased from eight to ten spots.
