Recap: Wizards Fight Hard but Fall 130-125 to Celtics in OT

The Wizards fought hard to force OT against the Boston Celtics but ultimately fell 130-125. The two point guards stole the show this evening; Kyrie Irving led all scorers with 38 points and John Wall had his best game of the year with 34 points, 13 assists and 7 rebounds.

Overtime seemed like a pipe dream for the Wizards down 3 points with 13 seconds left in regulation when Marcus Smart fouled Bradley Beal. But Beal proceeded to make the first free throw, miss the second then get his own rebound for the layup and to force overtime.

In overtime Irving was too much and hit two clutch threes in the last minute to seal the victory for the Celtics.

With the loss the Wizards fall to 11-17 on the year but this game gave reason for optimism. Jeff Green and Kelly Oubre both provided solid performances with 22 points and 20 points respectively.

Next up for the Wizards is the Nets in Brooklyn on Friday night.
