Ravens report card: The defense and special teams 12/7/2014

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Miami Dolphins 28 to 13 even after a very poor start in the first quarter.  Here is the report card on the offense.

Defensive Line: The defensive line held up well without star Haloti Ngata.  The line held the Dolphins to only 63 rushing yards and the line created constant pressure.  The Ravens had six total sacks.  Grade B+

Linebackers: C.J. Mosley lead the Ravens with eight tackles and a sack.  The real story was Elvis Dumervil who had 3.5 sacks and broke the Ravens single season record for sacks.  Grade A

Secondary: The secondary lost Anthony Levine and Danny Gorrer but still played ok.  The addition of Asa Jackson really showed.  A  better performance from the line.  Grade C+

Overall: Only allowing 13 points to a home team is a strong game.  The Ravens had great pressure on the quarterback.  Grade B+

Special Teams: There were no kick returns and not field goals by the Ravens and Jacoby Jones only had a short punt return.  Not much to grade.  Grade A

Coaching staff: The Ravens were not ready for the start of the game but the coaching staff did a great job making adjustments.  Grade B+
