Nationals lose to Mets 6-5: Recap 5/21/19

The Washington Nationals lost to the New York Mets Tuesday night at Citi Field. The Nats record currently stands at 19-29. The Mets move to 22-25.

Erick Fedde pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Fedde allowed 4 hits and 1 strikeout. Wander Suero allowed 2 hits and 3 strikeouts in relief for Washington.

At the top of the second inning, left fielder Juan Soto homered to the right (410 feet). In addition, in the top of the seventh, Brian Dozier homered to left (414 feet), Parra scored.

In the top of the eighth inning, shortstop Trea Turner doubled to left, pitch hitter Howie Kendrick scored. Also, in the eighth inning, Soto doubled to deep right, Turner scored, Rendon to third.

With a loss to the Mets, the Nationals will play game three of the series at 7:10pm at Citi Field. Pitching for the Nationals will be Max Scherzer.
