Nationals lose to Marlins, 9-3.

The Washington Nationals lost to the Miami Marlins on Saturday evening in regular season action. The Nats’ record currently stands at 9-10. The Marlins move to 6-15.

Max Scherzer pitched a very strong five innings for Washington. Scherzer allowed 11 hits and 9 strikeouts while pitching. Austin Adams allowed 0 hits and 2 strikeouts.

Offensively, the long ball ruled for Washington. At the bottom of the third inning, first baseman Matt Adams reached on a infield single to shortstop, Anthony Rendon and Victor Robles scored. In the top of the fifth inning, Howie Kendrick reached an infield single to first and Robles scored.

Tomorrow, the Nationals will play the final game of the series at Marlins Park. Pitching for the Nationals will be Stephen Strasburg.
