Nationals Dominate Marlins, 5-0

The Washington Nationals held off the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon in regular season action. The Nats’ record currently stands at 10-10. The Marlins’ drop to 5-16.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Allowing 2 hits and 11 strikeouts while pitching. Kyle Barraclough a relief pitcher struggled while allowing 0 hits and 2 strikeouts.

Offensively the long ball ruled for Washington. Belting out two home runs by Ryan Zimmerman, Brian Dozier. At the top of the 4th inning and the 9th inning Ryan Zimmerman hit a home run. In the middle of the seventh inning, second baseman Brian Dozier hit a home run. At the top of the sixth inning, third baseman Howie Kendrick hit a sacrifice fly to the center and left fielder Adam Eaton scored and Robles scored. In the middle of the ninth inning, shortstop Wilmer Difo singled to the center and catcher Kurt Suzuki scored, while Dozier to second.

The Washington Nationals play the Colorado Rockies for the start of a three game road trip at Coors Field at 8:40pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Jeremy Hellickson.
