Nationals beat Phillies 6-2: 6/19/19 Game 1

The Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday afternoon at Nationals Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 34-38. The Phillies drop to 39-33.

Patrick Corbin pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Corbin allowed four hits and eight strikeouts while pitching. Tanner Rainey allowed zero hits and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

At the bottom of the first inning, left fielder Juan Soto singled to right, Eaton scored, Rendon to second.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Gerardo Parra doubled to center, Matt Adams scored.

In addition to, in the bottom of the eighth, Dozier doubled to left, Soto scored. Also, in the eighth inning, Dozier homered to left (358 feet), Soto scored. Lastly, in the bottom of the eighth, Parra homered to right (376 feet).

With a win over the Phillies, the Nationals play game two of the doubleheader series at 7:05pm. Pitching for the Nationals will be Max Scherzer.
