Nationals beat Padres 5-1: 6/9/19

The Washington Nationals beat the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon at Petco Park in regular season action. The Nats record currently stands at 30-35. The Padres drop to 33-33.

Stephen Strasburg pitched a very strong seven innings for Washington. Strasburg allowed six hits and six strikeouts while pitching. Kyle Barraclough allowed zero hits and one strikeout in relief for Washington.

In the top of the first, third baseman Anthony Rendon grounded out to second, Turner scored.

In addition, in the top of the eighth inning, Howie Kendrick homered to the left (421 feet). Also, shortstop Trea Turner homered to center (425 feet). Additionally, right fielder Adam Eaton homered to center (402 feet). Finally, third baseman Anthony Rendon homered to right (391 feet).

With a win over the Padres, the Nationals head to Chicago to play the White Sox starting tomorrow night at 8:10p. Pitching for the Nationals will be Anibal Sanchez.
