Week six in the books for the MSB Fantasy Football league, how did it finish, and what is upcoming?

Week five in the NFL is complete meaning your week five in Fantasy Football is complete. The NFL has made it’s way through a roller coaster ride of upsets and stars being born. The Maryland Sports Bloggers battled it out in five more match ups in their ten team half point ppr league. The craziness and trash talk has continued in the fantasy league. Here is how the fifth week ended on the score sheets, along with the week six schedule.

  • Matt Bachota (6-0) took on Chanan Rothenberg (2-4) in what ended in an 11point difference. The line for the game was a 28 point prediction in favor of the undefeated Bachota. Chanan got a nice point out put from his TE Austin Hooper who is ranked 8th in ppr scoring at the position. Tight ends have been rough so far this season. Between injuries and lack of production it has been really difficult to find one that produces weekly. It seems like every week Melvin Gordon’s name is being brought up for Mr. Bachota, but how can it not when he put up a monster 35 points in route of pushing Matt to an 11 point win with a 153.5-142.6 score.
  • Wes Hoffmaster (2-4) took on Sam Smith (1-5) in week 6. Sam gets himself on the board with his first victory of the season. A big game for Kareem Hunt against the New England Patriots helped propel Sam to victory. Both Dave and Sam were that last two working on getting victories in the MSB league, that streak is over as both found victories this week. The story line for week seven was about to be written up as “Sam vs David, who gets their first one of the season…” Looks like we need a new story line.
  • David Edinger (1-5) took on Jeremy Train (4-2) in a battle of teams at polar opposite directions this season. David however took a step in the right direction moving to 1-5. Jeremy and his 4-2 record has been built on the huge points by Todd Gurley, but not even his 36.5 points could help as David had the counter for Gurley with 39.2 points from the high flying Tyreke Hill and his three touchdowns.
  •  The youngster Josh took advantage of Chris Cleveland (4-2) this week. The issue for Chris was the Saints were on bye week. Chris was without Brees, Kamara, and Thomas this week. Even with a bunch of guys on bye week Chris was about to put up 135 points. The problem however was Josh used his news addition James Conner and his 29 points to down Chris.
  • Alex Benda (3-3) took on (4-2) Vasilios Nikolaou in week six action. In surprising fashion however Alex took Vas to the woodshed. Vas who had been looking good at 4-1 failed to hit triple digits this week, and was the only team to fail at that attempt this week. 135.5-93.9 was the final score of this matchup. Saquan Barkley helped Alex out this week with a 37.9 point out put.

Here’s a look at week six schedule for the Maryland Sports Blog Fantasy Football League

Matt Bachota (6-0) takes on (4-2) Vasilios Nikolaou. After failing to hit triple digits will Vas come roaring back and upset Matt?

Wes Hoffmaster (2-4) takes on  the youngster Josh Sager (3-3). Will Wes build on a week 6 victory and take down the struggling Josh to get back to .500?

Alex Benda (3-3) takes on Jeremy Train (4-2).  Who will come out of this battle with the better record? A win by Alex pulls him even with Jeremy.

David Edinger(1-5) takes on Sam Smith (1-5). After a win by both of these guys to get their first victory, someone gets a second in a row and still a legit shot at making a playoff run, the other goes back to the drawing board with a loss, and may just be eliminated early from the playoffs

Chris Cleveland (4-2) takes on Chanan Rothenberg (2-4). This could be interesting in the MSB chat room as the trash discussions could be at an all time high for this one.

Teams at 6-0 = 1 (no one at 5-1, Matt holds a two game lead over three teams.)

Teams at 4-2 = 3

Teams at 3-3 = 2

Teams at 2-4= 2

Teams at 1-5 = 2
