Michal Kempny won’t be leaving Washington. Sources say he’s agreed to a multi year deal, despite outside interest, to stay with the Caps.

Kempny was a key cog in the wheel for Washington’s Stanley Cup run. Acquired before the trade deadline, Kempny helped to sure up a shaky defense that had been plaguing the Capitals all season. The Capitals will now have their top two defensive pairs coming back, with their third pair expected to be Christian Djoos and either Madison Bowey or Jakub Jerabek. Kempny will be able to continue revitalizing a career that had seemingly stalled in Chicago, while Washington re-signs a key piece if they expect to make another cup run this coming season.
Good news: Kempny will stay in D.C. for the foreseeable future. https://t.co/tg4wmCMnhh
