Maryland at Bowling Green Preview

The Maryland Terrapins (1-0) travel to Ohio this week to play the Bowling Green (0-1) Falcons. The Terps are 16 point favorites in the game despite being the road team.

Maryland defeated the nationally ranked Texas Longhorns last week and as such have received some sorely needed positive national attention. Matt Canada has been praised in the press for his outstanding work in keeping the team focused on football and not on the major storylines surrounding the program, leading to the Terps getting some votes to be ranked.

As for their opponent, the Falcons lost their season opener last week to the Oregon Ducks in what turned out to be a fairly substantial blowout. This of course doesn’t mean the Terps should underestimate Bowling Green, since Maryland fans will remember the embarrassing loss at home to this same Falcons team.

Overall, the Terps should have no problem dealing with this lower ranked FBS opponent given their apparent ability on both sides of the ball against the quality Longhorns team last week and I expect Maryland will remain undefeated on the season. The game will kick off at 6pm on ESPN.
