Life In The Fastlane

“Eager for action and hot for the game, the coming attraction, the drop of a name” The song say’s it all with WWE Fastlane rapidly approaching as the road to Wrestlemania gains speed. Two title matches have already been set with at least one or two more more expected to drop as soon as Tuesday night. We take a quick look at the two confirmed matches set for the last pit stop before mania. Plus we play armchair booker and tease a couple possible matches building up to the granddaddy of them all.

WWE Championship -Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Kofi Kingston:
After lasting over 60 minutes in a gauntlet match which included pinning the WWE champion Daniel Bryan Kofi Kingston found his place at the top of the food chain. Add to that his stellar performance at the Elimination Chamber coming a split second short of becoming the new WWE champion his place at the table was immediately set. Daniel Bryan knows all to well how close the fan favorite came to stealing his title. Bryan also knows that Kofi actually pinned him in the gauntlet match. Knowing the “New” Daniel Bryan as well as we do you can expect Erick Rowan to be ready to intervene at ringside in a moments notice. Que the New Day to be ready and willing to help their teammate. “Life in the fastlane, surely make you lose your mind” This may well ring true when the smoke clears and you see Wrestlemania starting to take shape.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship -The Usos (c) vs. The Miz & Shane McMahon:
After costing the Best tag team in the world to drop their titles Miz has been devastated. Feeling everything starting to fall apart he pleaded for a rematch against the Uso’s. Representing the Uso penitentiary fighting is first nature to these Samoan warriors. Jimmy and Jay were quick to accept the challenge and prove they were the best from “day one ish”. Fastlane takes place in Cleveland, hometown of the Miz. Announcing that his father would be front row ringside at Fastlane all the pieces are in place for Miz to be the hero. Or are they in place for Miz to be the fool? Could a monumental collapse at Fastlane in his hometown and in front of his father cause the greatest breakup of all time? Potentially setting up a Miz vs Shane McMahon match at Wrestlemania? Must see TV is in that angle and that is what I expect to see.

Possible Fastlane matches yet to be announced:

Intercontinental Championship -Finn Balor (c) vs. Bobby Lashley:
Finn actually won the title pinning little Lip Rush so Lashley should be demanding this rematch Tuesday night on Smackdown.

SmackDown Women’s Championship -Asuka (c) vs. Mandy Rose:
After Mandy Rose pinned Asuka on Smackdown she will undoubtedly try to spin that into a title shot at Fastlane. We all saw Sonya Deville help the beautiful blonde accomplish her feat and I would expect Asoka to be ready for them both this time around. Possibly clearing the way for Asuka vs Nikki or Lacey Evans at Mania.

Women’s Tag Team Championship -Sasha Banks & Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax & Tamina:
I won’t lie I’m not looking forward to this one. The new Women’s tag titles need to be defended and Nia and Tamina sadly make sense. I only hope they get this one off the books now so Sasha and Bayley can move on to Wrestlemania against Trish and Lita or “Fire and Desire”. Rose and Deville

There are a few other matches that could pop up including talents like Seth Rollins, McIntyre, Wyatt even a couple NXT stars aren’t ruled out. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair might do something to either solidify a singles match against Ronda Rousey or set yo a triple threat match at Wrestlemania for the RAW Women’s title. Monday night RAW and Tuesday’s Smackdown should shed some new light on some of these.
