Five Ravens Named to Pro Bowl
The NFL announced on Tuesday the 2022 Pro Bowl roster, with the Ravens having five representatives. Quarterback Lamar Jackson, tight end Mark Andrews, fullback Patrick Ricard, kicker Justin Tucker, and return specialist Devin Duvernay will all suit up for the AFC on February 6th at Allegiant stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Of the five, four were named starters with only quarterback Lamar Jackson named as one of the two backup quarterbacks.
This will be Jackson’s second Pro Bowl, through 12 games Jackson has thrown for 16 touchdowns, 2,882 yards and a completion percentage of 64.4. Jackson has also rushed for 767 yards on 133 carries, adding two touchdowns.
Tight end Mark Andrews was names to his second Pro Bowl. Andrews has been one of the most dominate tight ends in the AFC this season catching 85 passes, most by a tight end in the AFC, and has 1,062 receiving yards, ranking him third in the AFC. Andrews has also added eight receiving touchdowns.
Fullback Patrick Ricard was honored with his third Pro Bowl selection. While the fullback position is often lost in today’s NFL, Ricard has helped pave the way for the Ravens rushing attack that ranks third in the NFL. Ricard has also shown his ability in the pass game catches eight passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Kicker Justin Tucker was named to his fifth career Pro Bowl. Likely the least surprising Ravens representative, Tucker has been outstanding this season. Tucker is a perfect 27-27 on extra points and 29-31 on field goals, including a perfect 6-6 on field goals 50 yards and farther. Tucker’s biggest highlight this season came in week three when he kicked an NFL record 66-yard field goal to beat the Detroit Lions.
Second year returner specialist Devin Duvernay was named to his first Pro Bowl. Duvernay averages an NFL best 14.4 yards per punt return, while also having six punt returns of 20-yards or more which also leads the NFL. Duvernay’s 901 kick return yards ranks him fourth in the NFL and averages 24.6 yards per kick return.
