D.C. United Hits Road in Columbus for Playoff Rematch

D.C. United has had a rare thing going on lately: they’ve struggled at home. After dropping a 2-0 defeat to NYCFC on Easter, the third consecutive home match without recording a goal, D.C. United heads to Columbus to take on the Crew.

D.C. United and the Columbus Crew met in the first round of the playoffs last season at Audi Field which saw the Crew come away with the close, hard-fought victory in penalty kicks. Wednesday’s game is the first of a two-match road trip for the Black and Red as they look for their third straight win on the road tonight.

Despite the loss, D.C. United is a point ahead of Toronto FC for first place in the Eastern Conference with a 4-2-2 record and 14 points. The Crew are fourth in the east with a 4-1-3 mark, but they’re just a point behind D.C. United making this Wednesday night machup all the more important. Columbus is looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

D.C. United and Columbus split the regular season series last year before that playoff meeting. Now the Black and Red seek payback from November. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. on FloFC.
