Capitals wrap up a west coast road trip with a game against the Avalanche.

The Washington Capitals are facing the Colorado Avalanche to wrap up a west coast road trip. The Caps are coming off a big loss to the Golden Knights. The Caps were without Alex Ovechkin for that game, as he was out with a lower body injury. Darcy Kuemper was also pulled from the goaltender position as he was just having an off night. The Capitals have a record of 1-1-0 during this three game road trip.

T.J. Oshie has left the team to return to DC in order to be here for the birth of his kid. He should be back with the team for the Thursday matchup with the Penguins. Alex Ovechkin is also a game time decision as he has been practicing with a four person line, but has not yet been put back into rotation with the top line.

The goaltender position is just about equal, as Kuemper has a 2.55 goals against average while Alexandar Georgiev has a 2.64 goals against average. The backup goaltenders gives a slight advantage to the Avs as Pavel Francouz has a 2.47 goals against average while Charlie Lindgren has a 2.66 goals against average. This is also Darcy Kuemper’s return to Ball Arena where he won a Stanley Cup with the Avs.
