Capitals vs Bruins, the season finale before playoffs start

The Washington Capitals are playing the Boston Bruins in the last game of the regular season. The Capitals will be without John Carlson and T.J. Oshie tonight and Alex Ovechkin is a game time decision.

The defense has been mediocre the last two games and needs to tighten up in order to protect the goalie and give a better chance at winning the game. If the team can clear the zone, keep up a good forcheck, and finish their checks then, they can keep the puck in the neutral or offensive zone. This gives a good chance at protecting the goalie and leaving him rested.

The other thing the team needs to do is utilize this game as a warmup for the playoffs which start Saturday. Since the Capitals are playing the Bruins, this is a good chance to set the tone for how the playoffs will be.

Game is at 7 on NBC Sports Network
