Caleb Joseph demoted to Norfolk, Andrew Susac called up

The 31 year old defensive stud has been dismal at the plate this year. In 24 games he has a line of .182/.203/.325. These numbers are similar to 2016 when he was also sent down but came back up later.

Andrew Susac was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers this past off season for a player to be named or cash. In 16 games with the Norfolk Tides he has a line of .296/.424/.537 to go along with three homeruns. The 28 year olds best season came in 2014 when he played 35 games for the San Francisco Giants.

This may open to Chance Sisco to start being the number one catcher in Baltimore for the future. Even though Susac is getting the start today, this is because of the lefty on the mound for the Boston Red Sox.

This may be the last we see of Caleb Joseph in Baltimore. With Chance Sisco, Andrew Susac, and Austyn Wynns all younger and with more potential than Joseph, look for the Baltimore Orioles to trade Joseph for a small prospect at the trade deadline.
