Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns report card

Quarterback– Joe Flacco’s numbers were ugly; but lets face it, he did not throw that often. When he did, he was effective. His receivers dropped a good amount of balls and the weather was just plain ugly. Grade B

Running back– Ray Rice was phenomenal. He had a career day rushing for 204 yards averaging 7 yards a carry. Ricky Williams was also good, averaging 4.6 yards a carry and scoring a touchdown. Grade A++

Receivers– The receivers were asked to block more than they were asked to run routes. Ed Dickson was the most valuable receiver, with three catches for 47 yards. Lee Evans was targeted three times but failed to have a catch. Grade C

Offensive line– They just bulldozed the Cleveland Browns defensive line. They opened up some huge holes for Rice to run through. Best game all season. Grade A

Defensive line– Pernell McPhee had two sacks and the entire defensive front kept Colt McCoy on the ground the entire game. They also did a great job keeping Peyton Hillis to only 45 yards on the ground. Grade A

Linebackers– Without Ray Lewis, Jameel McClain continues to impress. Terrell Suggs added a sack and Jarret Johnson was a beast shedding blocks and making plays. Dannell Ellerbe also had a great game with seven tackles which the most on the team along with McClain. Grade A

Secondary
– Jimmy Smith had his second interception of the season and they had a lot of near picks. Danny Gorrer played outstanding forcing a fumble which Ed Reed recovered, but the call was questionably reversed. The only big play against the secondary came on Hillis’s 52-yard reception. Grade A

Special teams– It was a rough day for Billy Cundiff who missed two short field goals. To his defense, the field was a mess with bad weather. Lardarius Webb had a punt return of 68 yards for a touchdown. Grade B

Coaching staff– The offense ran the ball because the Browns could not stop the run. The defense confused McCoy to the point where the Ravens had their hands on the ball more often than the Browns players. Grade B+
