Army vs Navy- Game Preview

Philadelphia, Pa- Navy this year started the season 5-0 but have stumbled down the stretch losing five of their last six. Those losses though were against some quality teams like Notre Dame and never were they beat in that stretch by more than 10.

Navy will get behind that offensive line and try to run it all over Army’s defense. Zach Abey is where Navy will look to hit the Black Knights first with their versatile quarterback. Abey leads Navy with 1322 yards on the ground to go along with 14 touchdowns. Army will have to watch out for the throw also with Abey as he has another 803 yards in the air and 7 touchdowns.

For Abey he will want to redeem himself after throwing 2 interceptions and having just over 200 yards of total offense. Those miniscule numbers held Navy back and caused them to loose to Army for the first time in 14 years.

To go along with Abey the Midshipman will use Malcom Perry (QB/RB) who is averaging 8.9 yards per carry this season. The one two puch of Abey and Perry is one of the biggest threats in the NCAA

The Mids defense will have to stop the run where Army as a team is averaging 6.2 yards per rush. Army is not afraid to line up and run the ball 90 to 98 percent of their plays. The Black Knights are run heavy and why wouldn’t they be when it is so successful.

To stop this Army run game the Mids need to focus on Ahmad Bradshaw the Black Knights quarterback. Bradshaw has 1472 yards on the ground to go with 11 touchdowns. If he is not running it he is giving it to his backs Darnell Woolfolk, Andy Davidson, and Kell Walker who have all combined for 3210 yards and 32 touchdowns. The run game is electric and one Navy will have to shut down if they want to win.

Philadelphia, PA will be hosting this years Army Navy game at 3 PM eastern on your local CBS channel.
