And the Orioles Select…..Jackson Holliday

The Orioles have selected Jackson Holliday, a shortstop from Stillwater High School in Oklahoma with the first pick of the 2022 in the MLB draft. Jackson is the son of seven time All-star Matt Holliday. The Gatorade’s Oklahoma player of the year Jackson finished his senior season with 89 hits in 41 games finishing with a .685 batting average. Jackson has drawn comparisons to Brandon Crawford’s fielding ability and Corey Seager’s bat.

The MLB pipeline has graded Jackson with a Hit 60, Power 55, Run 60, Arm 55, Field 55, and an overall grade of 60. A lefty bat at 6’1 and 175 pounds he’s still growing into his frame could be a 30-35 homerun hitter. It’ll be exciting to add him to the top farm system in MLB. Welcome to Baltimore Jackson Holliday.
