Nationals lineup – 7/4/19
The Washington Nationals are looking to sweep the Miami Marlins this morning for the annual Independence Day Game. The Nationals currently stand at 44-41 and the Marlins 37-52. Anibal Sanchez (4-6, 3.82 ERA) will start for the Nationals, and Elieser Hernandez (1-2, 4.07 ERA) will start for the Marlins.
One quick roster move of note: Max Scherzer was placed on the paternity list yesterday, and Adrian Sanchez was called up from Double-A Harrisburg. Scherzer is expected to return on time for his start against the Kansas City Royals this weekend.
Max Scherzer is going on the paternity leave list. His wife, Erica, is due to give birth to their second daughter tomorrow. He is expected to return to start Saturday vs. KC as planned. Adrian Sanchez added to active roster for next 3 days.
