Capitals stay in New York to play a one off game against the Islanders
The Washington Capitals are looking to rebound from a loss against the New York Rangers that was suffered on Tuesday. There was some good and a lot of bad to take away from that game. Let’s look at both.
The defense was abysmal in the last game. The team did nothing to stop the puck from coming into the defensive zone, nothing to help out the goalie, and was terrible in getting the puck out of the defensive zone. This needs to be tightened up against a team who’s fighting for first place in the Massmutal east division.
Secondly, the power play really hasn’t shown much life because its the same technique every time the team has one. This makes it exceptionally easy for teams to defend against. As the team is in the final 20+ games for the season, this needs to be addressed.
Finally, the good part of the past few games is the coach has found lines that click together in order to get the ball rolling. This is good for team chemistry. It also allows players to devolop better game with their line mates.
The game is at 7 on NBC sports Washington and 106.7 fm
