Capitals begin the preseason with an afternoon game
The Washington Capitals will begin the 23-24 pre season today with a game starting at 2:00. This is one of three home games this pre season. Some of the notable absences will be some of the most familier faces with the team. Team Captain Alex Ovechkin, T.J. Oshie, and Evgeny Kuznetsov. The normal goaltenders Darcy Kuemper and Charlie Lindgren will not be the starter or backup today either.
Some of the regulars who played last season that are suiting up for todays game are, Sonny Milano, Dylan Strome, Anthony Mantha, Nicolas Aube-Kubel. On defense, some regulars are Trevor van Riemsdyk, Martin Fehervary, and Alex Alexeyev.
This is the first of six games this preseason. The next game is Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings. As the pre season continues and gets closer to the regular season, look for some of the regulars like Ovi to suit up for the team.
