Baltimore Orioles release Eric Young Jr

33 year old Eric Young Jr was released by the Baltimore Orioles on Friday.

Eric Young Jr was signed by the Orioles back in February to provide some veteran leadership for the young core group of players.

In Young’s short spring campaign, he appeared in 13 games for the Orioles. He showcased a .323 batting average while driving in three runs.

Eric Young Jr has completed ten seasons in the MLB, jumping around with a handful of teams before landing his miner league contract with the Baltimore Orioles in February.

Despite a strong spring, the Orioles organization felt it was best if Young went on his way, but his veteran leader ship did not go to waste, being a good mentor for all the young players in the organization.
