Washington Spirit fall to Chicago Red Stars; recap 9/21/19

The Washington Spirit suffered a 3-1 defeat to the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday night in Chicago. The Spirit are sixth in the NWSL standings.

The Red Stars got two goals from Samantha Kerr in the ninth and 49th minutes as well as Yuki Nagasato in the 23rd minute.

The Spirit got on the board with their lone goal of the match in the 80th minute from Mallory Pugh. That would be as close as they would get.

The Spirit will take on the Houston Dash on the road on Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m.
