Washington Capitals Win Game Two Against the Pittsburgh Penguins

The Washington Capitals defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in game two in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The Capitals will now travel to Pittsburgh Tuesday to play there next game with the series tied up.

The Capitals got the scoring going first when Tom Wilson broke up a play that gave Alex Ovechkin the opportunity to score his eighth goal of the playoffs in the first period. Later in the first Jakub Vrana scored his first career NHL playoff goal showing his grit outworking Pittsburgh defenders with a rebound goal.

The Capitals kept the fire up scoring another goal in the start of the second period when Brett Connolly scored a breakaway goal for a 3-0 Capitals lead. Later Pittsburgh defender Christopher Letang beat Holtby to shorten the lead 3-1.

The third period the Capitals showed up and proved they where a beater team dominating the forecheck, out hitting and out the the Penguins all periodZ Nicklas Backstrom scores an empty net goal to give the Capitals a 4-1 victory.

Braden Holtby played another outstanding game stopping 32 shots. He again looked confident and poised being named the first star of the game.
