Washington Capitals Shutout San Jose Sharks 2-0

The Washington Capitals had a great finish on there west coast trip shutting out the San Jose Sharks 2-0. Philipp Grubauer stopes all 24 shots for his second shutout for the year. This was also the Capitals first win in San Jose since 1993.

The Capitals finally got out of there scoring slump in the second period when Nicklas Backstrom blasted a puck over Sharks goalie Martin Jones glove for Backstroms 17 goal of the season.

Later in the third Lars Eller scored an empty net goal for the two goal lead. The Capitals played a very dominate game outshooting and out checking the Sharks.

The centers played a very good game on draws winning 62% of faceoffs. The Capitals return home on Monday with a game against the Winnipeg Jets
