Washington Capitals Lose 4-1 to Edmonton Oilers

The Washington Capitals lost 4-1 to the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 on their second roads trip game on the west coast. The Capitals lost a hard fought game playing against a young, skilled Oilers team lead by NHL all-star Conor McDavid who had one goal tonight.

Tonight the Capitals honored former teammate Alex Chiasson who is now an Edmonton Oiler with his Stanley Cup ring; who scored a goal tonight against his former team.

Andre Burakovsky was the Capital who scored tonight, but a lot of people great Capitals scoring chances was stopped tonight by Oilers goalie Cam Talbot who played a great game stopping 31 saves.

The referees where not in favor of the Capitals tonight calling the first face-off violation call of the year causing the Capitals to go short-handed and giving up a goal short-handed. The Capitals also went one for four while short handed, and failed to score a powerplay goal while on one powerplay all night.

Capitals play again Saturday night in Calgary against the Flames.
