Towson Blows-Out UAlbany 56-28, Moves Up to Top-10 FCS Ranking

Another Saturday and another Towson Tiger victory as they improve to 6-1 on the year and 4-0 in conference, and sole possession of first place in the CAA. Unfortunately for the UAlbany Great Danes (2-5, 0-4 CAA), another loss means they are still winless within the CAA. Here are the highlights:

My Grades for the big performance:

Offense: It is not hard to see the huge difference between this years Tiger football team and last years. Having a very good quarterback certainly helps that as Tom Flacco has thrown for more Touchdowns (17) and is on pace for more yards than last years leading passer. Back to the game, Flacco was once again good and threw for two scores, as well two on the ground. Flacco was also the leading rusher, but Towson got big runs from their running backs as well, including a 42-yard touchdown run from Thaenrat. Overall the Tigers threw for 321 yards, and rushed for 217 yards.

Grade: A

Defense: Sure, 28 points is a fair amount, but you have to look at it from a certain perspective. The Towson Offense took a big lead early, forcing the Great Danes to play up-tempo and take a lot of shots to the end zone. The Tigers were able to play their game and the defense responded well with that.

Grade: B

Tigers moved up to FCS Top-10 Ranking:

Towson has moved to #10 in both the STATS FCS Poll and the FCS Coaches Poll.

Next Game:

Towson travels up I-95 North to take on rival University of Delaware.
