Scherzer has not only won this award, but he has won the N.L. Player of the Week three times in his career, now four N.L. Pitcher of the Month awards, has been named a 5-time all star(two with Detroit and three with Washington), and he has won the 2013 A.L. Cy Young with Detroit, the 2016 N.L.
