Maryland Toys with Catholic, Wins Comfortably

Maryland(10-3) defeated Catholic University on Tuesday night by a final score of 76-59. The game was surprisingly close for most of the first half, but the Terps took a 21-20 lead most of the way through the opening frame and never looked back. They used a 33-11 run to really take CU out of the game and coasted the rest of the way.

-Justin Jackson(illness) and Bruno Fernando(ankle) were both held out as precautions, as Turgeon knew he would not need them

-Anthony Cowan(18) and Kevin Huerter(14) led the team in scoring as per usual. Kevin continued his stellar 3-point shooting season, raising his season mark to 46.9%

-Ivan Bender(??) made a 3

-Jared nickens got 26 minutes, his highest in a while and poured in 14 points on 4-6 from 3

– Joshua Tomaic got his first actual in-game minutes this year and played well, hitting 3 shots including a 3

-Daryl Morsell got his second career start and put up a productive 8 and 5 in 30 minutes

-Reese Mona got a few minutes in the first half for some reason and scored in his second consecutive game

Maryland will go on a break now for finals. They return on December 21st to host Fairleigh Dickinson at 7pm on ESPNU.
