Capitals vs. Lightning Preview: November 29, 2019
The Washington Capitals come off Thanksgiving Break to face the Tampa Bay Lightning at home. These teams have bad blood between them, and are looking to resolve their beef again in DC. The playoff race has not quite begun to heat up yet, but both teams are making strong cases to remain active in it.
The Caps are 17-4-5 with 39 points. They still lead the league in overall points, and are just coming off a statement win against Florida on Wednesday. Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson once again have career years ahead of them, and goalie Braden Holtby is starting to get the rust off after a slow start to the season. The Lightning are 12-8-2 with 26 points. Despite their star talent, they have underwhelmed this season after winning the Presidents’ Trophy last year. Both teams try to capture some magic tonight in the first of three matchups on the season.
