12/13/2017 – A waived off goal, and a missed wide open net by forward Riley Barber was costly for Hershey who still outshot the Bruins 28-20. The Bears were 0-for-4 on the power play, while Providence was 1-for-2 on the man advantage. The Bruins scored the only goal they needed at 14:54 of the first period on the power play. Colton Hargrove would score his eighth goal of the season (matching the 8 game win streak) to make it 1-0 for the visitors.

The Bears led the shots on goal category all night, but Providence who would find the back of the net early. Anton Blidh would score on a two-on-one to make the game 2-0. A couple missed assignments in the nuetral zone, and a bad bounce led to the opportunity.

Providence would add to the lead at 14:35 as Zach Senyshyn skated around Bears defenseman Aaron Ness and knocked his own rebound past Vanecek to extend the Bruins lead to a 3-0 advantage.

Wednesday’s game marked the first time Hershey was held scoreless at Giant Center since Bridgeport goaltender Chris Gibson kicked out all 28 shots he faced in a 5-0 shutout victory for the Sound Tigers on November 14, 2015 per Hershey’s team website.
