Tom Wilson’s Suspension Appeal Upheld For 20 Games

Washington Capitals Right Wing, Tom Wilson, is still suspended for 20 games after getting his appealed upheld by commissioner, Gary Bettman. Wilson was originally suspended for high checking Blues Center, Oskar Sundqvist in a preseason game, which resulted in a 20 game suspension.

Since 2013, Wilson has been penalized the most out of all the active players in the NHL, which is 255 penalties since then. Moreover, Wilson is 3rd all time in penalty minutes, being 806 minutes before the start of the 2018-2019 season, all according to SportingNews.com. Moreover, the Right Winger recorded 14 goals, 21 assists, along with an average of 15:59 minutes on the ice, while playing 78 games in the 2017-2018 season.

Wilson will continue to serve his 20 game suspension, as given to him by Gary Bettman, and will return to the ice and be eligible to play on November 21st, 2018, against the Chicago Blackhawks. In my opinion, Wilson’s suspension time is debatable, as he is a repeat offender.
