Wizards youngsters come up big in win vs Magic

The Washington Wizards made up ground in the playoff race with a 100-90 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Bradley Beal led the way for the Wizards with 23 points, Thomas Bryant had 21 points and 10 rebounds, Jabari Parker scored 19.

On the other side of the ball, Nikola Vucevic had 20 points and 14 rebounds for Orlando, D.J. Augustin had 16 points. Jonathan Isaac and Aaron Gordon each finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.

The second half got competitive as the Magic opened on an 8-0 run to tie it at 61. Neither team led by more than six until Jabari Parker scored the final six points of an 11-2 run to put Washington up 91-82. After a few more possessions, the Wizards increased their lead to 94-84 with 3:48 left.

The Wizards played smart only committing one turnover in the first half. They look to keep this streak going as they move within 1 1/2 games of ninth-place Orlando and Charlotte.

Wizards host Charlotte Friday night in a must win situation.
