Wizards staying hot with a second straight win

The Washington Wizards continue staying hot winning at home against the Dallas Mavericks 132-123.

Entering the game 11th in the Eastern Conference and three games out of a playoff berth, Washington knew they had to kick it into high gear and they got just that from a multitude of players.

Bradley Beal led all Wizards in points scoring 30 with 7 Rebounds, Trevor Ariza scored 22 and Jabari Parker 20. On the other side, the Mavericks young phenomenon Luka Doncic led the team with 31 points and added 11 Rebounds with 7 assists.

Dwight Powell had an impressive night and scored a career-high 26 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds. A lot of attention went to Dirk Nowitzki during the game who is expected to retire after his 20th NBA season. Chants from the crowd of ‘MVP!” or ”We want Dirk!” was heard at the Verizon Center. He made two free throws and grabbed two rebounds in 12 minutes of action. The Wizards know they must stay hot if they want to clinch a playoff berth when they visit Charlotte on Friday night.

The Hornets are also lingering for a playoff berth. The Mavericks close their three-game trip at Orlando on Friday night.
