Wizards snap losing streak with win vs Nuggets

The Washington Wizards beat the Denver Nuggets 95-90, holding them to just 28 points in the second half sunday night.

Troy Brown led all Wizards with a career-high 24 points, five 3-pointers and seven rebounds. Thomas Bryant and Jabari Parker each had 20. On the other side of the ball, Paul Millsap would lead the Nuggets with 13 points, 16 rebounds and three assists. Nikola Jokić continued to be the difference for Denver on both sides of the floor. He would finish the game with 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Unfortunately, Jokic was ejected late in the fourth quarter with the game tied at 88. Washington outscored the Nuggets 7-2 after he was tossed. Adding insult to injury, starting point guard Jamal Murray left the game in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle and didn’t return. Monte Morris would run the point from the remainder of the game. The Nuggets inability to hit shots, especially from long range, was the deciding factor of the game. Denver would finish the game shooting 37.6 percent from the floor, including a poor 19.4 percent from downtown. Washington took advantage and gained momentum quickly.

The Wizards host the Bulls Wednesday night at 7PM. E.S.T.
