Wizards lose big to Spurs

The Washington Wizards lost 129-112 to the San Antonio Spurs Friday night.

Bradley Beal led all Wizards with 25 points, Thomas Bryant had 19. A lot of Washington’s younger players got plenty of time to play since the game was noncompetitive for most of the second half. Thomas Bryant had an efficient night. Troy Brown Jr. had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Devin Robinson got his first playing time since January and finished with 4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 14 minutes.

On the other side of the ball, LaMarcus Aldridge led all Spurs with 24 points, Bryn Forbes and Patty Mills each scored 17. DeMar DeRozan scored 16 points while Rudy Gay added 18 off the bench. The Spurs had eight players score in double figures. 77 points in the first half was the most the Spurs have scored in a half since Nov. 7, 1990, when they scored 78 against Denver. They also shot 56% overall and led by as many as 24 points in the fourth quarter.

The Wizards head to New York for their final road game of the season against the Knicks on Sunday night at 7:30 pm.
