Wizards gear up for season finale

The Washington Wizards will gear up for their final game of the season tonight as they host the Boston Celtics.

After a rocky season, the Wizards are waiting to get this season over with so they can start looking on to next season. The Wizards, who lost their chance at the playoffs seven weeks ago, will conclude their worst season since 2012-13, when they finished 29-53. They will be looking to finish 33-49 tonight instead of 32-50. Chances are against them, as they are 2-8 in their last ten games. But the Celtics are rumored to not play many of their starters tonight, as they rest up for the first round of NBA Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers. This will give the Wizards a chance to end the season on a good note.

Kyrie Irving of the Celtics and Bradley Beal of the Wizards are the season leaders heading into this match-up. Beal has averaged 25.7 points-per- game this season with a field goal percentage of 47.4, while Irving has averaged 23.8 points-per-game with a field goal percentage of 48.7. Thomas Bryant leads the Wizards in rebounds with 6.3 per game, 4.7 of which were defensive and 1.6 offensive. Al Horford led the Celtics in rebounds averaging 6.7 per game, five of which being defensive and 1.8 offensive.

Neither team needs a win tonight, as one has been kicked from playoffs and one has already secured its spot in the playoffs, but both teams will search for a win tonight to add to the statistics. The last game these teams played, the Celtics topped the Wizards 107-96, so tonight the Wizards will look for revenge.
