Wizards Capture the 5th Seed in the East

wizardsThe Washington Wizards have ended their regular season with a 116 to 102 victory over the Boston Celtics.  The win caps a 4 game winning streak in which the Wizards also defeated the Miami Heat.  Even though Miami was without LeBron James and Chris Bosh and the Celtics are hardly a competitive team, there is something to be said for going in to the playoffs on a winning streak.  After playing .500 ball in the month of March (8-8), the Wizards went 6-2 in April.  This win was important for the Wizards in that a loss would have dropped them to the 7th seed and a first round match-up with the Miami Heat.  Instead they capture the 5th seed and a match-up with the Chicago Bulls.

Also of note is Bradley Beal going 10 for 14 for 27 points in the close out game.  Beal feeling confident in his shot is going to be a big factor in the series against the Chicago Bulls.  The Wizards are riding high at the moment and are looking to make a splash in this year’s playoffs.

Game 1 of the Wizards Bulls series will kick off in Chicago on Sunday.
