With Santana done Orioles may need to make a trade

The Baltimore Orioles lost the rehabbing Johan Santana yesterday for the season after tearing his Achilles.   It is a really sad story for Santana as he was a couple weeks away from returning to the Big Leagues.

Santana was in his final rehab start in extended spring training when tore the tendon.  Now the Orioles may need to look elsewhere.  The Orioles starting pitching has struggled to go deep into games and the bullpen has been a rotating door.  The bullpen has pitched well but they are just getting way overused.

The Orioles should try hard not to give up a grade A prospect.   Keep Kevin Gausman and Dylan Bundy off the table.  Gausman is pitching tonight for the Orioles and may be a key piece for the rotation.  I like Gausman’ s potential and his endurance.

I would like to see how Gausman pitches before the Orioles make a move for an established started.
