What.A.Series!

The Baltimore Orioles split the series with the Boston Red Sox today by winning five to four.

The Red Sox got the scoring started in the top of the first inning when Kevin Pillar hit a home run to lead the game one to nothing. Unfortunately, Kevin LaBlanc exited the game shortly after this due to “left elbow discomfort.”

In the bottom of the third inning, Rio Ruiz singled to bring in two runs. Soon after, Andrew Velazquez bunted to bring home Ryan Mountcastle. The Orioles took the lead three to one.

The Red Sox were not done scoring however. In the top of the sixth inning, Xander Bogaerts doubles to plate a run. The score stood at three to two Orioles.

In a see-saw battle, Ruiz doubled in the bottom of the seventh inning to score two runs. This would push the lead to five to two.

Jackie Bradley Jr. almost made the Red Sox come back to win in the top of the ninth inning. He hit a two run home run to make it a close five to four game.

Thankfully, the Orioles’ pitching got the win today after giving up the late home run. The Orioles scored five runs on ten hits. While the Red Sox score four runs on six hits. Like yesterday, each team had no errors.

The Orioles will take a short break before they play the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night.
