Week Four, aka Steelers Week

Ravens fans, it’s that time of year again. Autumn is starting to settle in and what better way to celebrate than a hard-nosed, blood bath rivalry between the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Both teams are coming off shocking losses in Week Three and are looking to bounce back and take sole possession of first place in the AFC North. The Steelers lost to the Chicago Bears in overtime where running backs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen ran all over the defense, while the Ravens were blown out like a double decker tire against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The Ravens are going from playing in the clock Big Ben’s shadow, to hopefully fixing their defense against the just as tall, but just as damaged quarterback Big Ben.

The Ravens’ secondary need to bounce back better than ever with the NFL’s leading receiver Antonio Brown and young speedster Martavius Bryant coming to town. But more importantly, the linebacking core needs to step up big time. The outside linebackers have played very well so far, but the inside backers consisting of CJ Mosley, Kamalei Correa, and Patrick Onwuasor need to cover the middle of the field more effectively. The defense let Blake Bortles throw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns, and Big Ben is leaps and bounds better than Bortles.

I’m just happy this rivalry is finally back. This rivalry is as physical as it gets. As Terrell Suggs says, “This game has the potential to define you. You’ll never forget. I remember every one.” Who could ever forget the Troy Polamalu vs. Ed Reed and Ray Lewis vs. Joey Porter debates. It is all but certain that whoever wins between these two will win the division, and luckily the Ravens have had the Steelers’ number in recent years.
