Watson wins Bart Starr Award
Yesterday, Baltimore Ravens’ tight end, Benjamin Watson was announced as the recipient of the Bart Starr award.
The award is honored to the NFL player that best exemplifies character and leadership on the field, in the home, and out in the community.
Watson says after knowing he is receiving such a prestigious award, “As Bart Starr has exemplified, there is nothing more important and lasting than a man’s character. I am incredibly humbled and honored to receive this award in his name. Through football, family and faith, my desire is to leave a legacy that lasts beyond the game. To this end, I am incredibly grateful for the Starr family and the enduring example they continue to set.”
Yesterday, @BenjaminSWatson received a call from Bart Starr's wife Cherry to inform him he was the recipient of this year's Bart Starr Award.

Watson will receive the award during a breakfast the day before the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, and is much deserving of the award. Watson took a three day trip to Lebanon this past off-season to spend time with refugees in refugee camps, hosted many events during and around the holiday season, and his foundation, the One More Foundation has helped a countless number of people.
It is always great seeing the players that show the best character get noticed for it. Watson is also nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award and the Ed Block Courage Award. Congrats Ben, you greatly deserve it.
