Washington Wizards 2017-2018 Player Profile: Markieff Morris

The Washington Wizards traded for Power Forward Markieff Morris in 2016 and he is currently in the last year of his contract. He is a bargain for the Wizards and they should do everything they can to lock him down longer term. I’ve been a fan of Markieff Morris and his twin brother Marcus, who currently plays for the Boston Celtics, for years so I am definitely biased. I think he adds some of the toughness and defense that the Wizards desperately need.

The Washington Wizards would have to be crazy to trade Markieff Morris. He’s their most physical player, he’s not particularly injury prone, and he fits into various lineups. He plays well in the traditional lineup and he plays well with Oubre Jr. I am shipping this alternate lineup of no centre with Oubre Jr. and Morris HARD. The Wizards need to be versatile in their playing styles. With Wall out, though Tomas Satoransky did a great job, the Wizards were easily read and that’s what led to some of their losses. If they add another versatile lineup to their game, there’s less chance of this happening.

Markieff Moriss is a valuable asset to the Washington Wizards and needs to be retained.
