Washington Wizards 2017-2018 Player Profile: Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal, the #3 overall draft pick by the Wizards in 2012, had a career year in 2017-2018 in which he made his first all-star game.

Beal is signed with the Wizards for another three years on a max contract where he will make an average of $26 million a year. It was big that Beal took the next step to become an all-star last season given how much of the salary cap he takes up. Beal was easily the Wizards most consistent player last year with John Wall injured.

2017-2018 Statistics
MPG: 36.3
FG%: .460

3P%: .375
FT%: .793

RPG: 4.4
APG: 4.5
BPG: .4
PPG: 22.6

Beal has improved every year of his career and will hope to do so again this year. In 2017-2018, with Wall missing half of the year, it was a huge opportunity for Beal to take on more of a lead role and he did relatively well in it, but the Wizards are still at their best with both stars healthy and on the floor.

One big talking point for Beal last year was how many minutes he was forced to play and how it impacted his playoff performance. Beal was ninth in the league in minutes per game and fourth in total minutes, this showed late in the season and in the playoffs when he seemed to be exhausted.

With the addition of Austin Rivers and a hopefully healthy Wall, Beal should see his minutes decrease slightly so he is more fresh come playoff time.
