Washington Commanders At Chicago Bears Week 6 Preview
The Commanders look to stop the losing streak tonight when they take on the Bears at 8:15 on Prime video or fox 5 locally. This game means a lot for Carson Wentz and his NFL career. Especially with the comments Ron Rivera made this week. If the commanders don’t win I expect them to make a change at Quarterback and once again go into a rebuild. This is because the 3rd round pick turns into a 2nd round pick to the Colts if Wentz plays 70%+ of the offensive snaps. Especially if the Commanders are going to have a top pick in that round, which looks like that will be the case and you don’t want to give that up.
Offense
The offense needs to move the ball more consistently tonight. They need to sustain drives and not have as many penalties that set them back. Last week that had some killer penalties that would put them behind the chains. This offense can’t be successful if it’s in 2nd or 3rd and longs. They need to stay on schedule and get 3 to 5 yards per play. If they can’t do this it will be another tough game for the offense and the fans watching.
Carson Wentz had a solid game last week other than his interception to end the game. He needs to have another good game tonight with no turnovers. For the 5th time this season he hasn’t had a turnover free game. The Commanders need him to be perfect tonight. If he’s not this might be his last game in a Commanders uniform. Also I need Wentz to get the ball to Terry more this game. Terry only got 6 targets last week and I would like that number to get up to 10+. This will also help the offense succeed and terry always has a chance to break a tackle and take it for 6.
Defense
The defense has been good enough the last two games to win. The entire D-line has played well from getting pressure on the quarterback to containing the run. The linebackers have played better, but are still having trouble in pass coverage. Finally the secondary has been bad and are still giving up big plays every game. This secondary needs to hold the Bears wide outs in check and make the Bears have long drives to score. Finally William Jackson has asked to be traded and does not like playing in the scheme Washington uses. This brings up the question why did they ever sign Jackson if he didn’t fit the scheme.
This defense needs to force a couple of turnovers tonight. During this losing streak they haven’t forced a single turnover. They have had some chances and forced two in Dallas unfortunately they committed penalties on those plays, so they didn’t count. If they can force turnovers the Commanders will win this game and snap the losing streak.

Preditctions
I believe the Commanders will come out strong and control this game. I think the defense will force a couple turnovers and get after Justin Fields throughout the game. For the offense I believe they will run the ball more tonight and get Brain Robinson going. I also think they will focus on getting Terry the ball more during this game and hit him on a deep ball. The Commanders win tonight 27-13 and end the losing streak.
